Job summary

Powell Houston-Canton in Ohio is seeking a MIG Welder–Fabricator to join our shop team. You will weld mild and stainless sheet metal, read complex drawings, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances while finishing welds to cosmetically sound standards.

The role requires 1–2 years of welding experience, strong teamwork, and strict adherence to safety and ISO procedures. Weekend shift Fri–Sun, 6:00am–6:30pm, with collaboration across welders, painters, and machine operators.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years’ welding experience required.
• Able to read complex drawings and hit tight tolerances.
• English proficiency (written and verbal).
• Know AWS welding standards.
• Familiarity with Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
• Commitment to safety and ISO requirements.

Responsibilities

• MIG weld mild and stainless steel per drawings.
• Fit, cope, tack, and align parts according to layout.
• Adjust machines and fine-tune voltage per job.
• Grind and buff welds to meet appearance specs.
• Inspect welds and validate size and length within tolerance.
• Identify materials and select appropriate consumables.
