Job description

Global Power Components

Global Power Components is a privately held, growing manufacturer specializing in UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures, and modular metal enclosures for electrical distribution and control equipment.

We are seeking 2nd Shift MIG Welders (Mon-Thursday, 4PM - 2:30AM) who are dedicated, detail-oriented, and seeking stable, consistent hours. Overtime is always available but not mandatory. Join us at Global Power Components where work is plentiful!

Responsibilities:
  • Welding I-beam frames and fuel tanks in flat, vertical, and overhead positions, with sheet metal thicknesses ranging from 10 gauge to ½ inch.
  • Clamping, holding, tack-welding, grinding, or bolting component parts to achieve required configurations for welding.
  • Positioning and securing workpieces using hoists, cranes, wire and banding machines, or hand tools.
  • Inspecting products and equipment for defects and malfunctions.
Requirements:
  • Ability to read measuring devices such as tape measures.
  • Ability to read blueprints—this is extremely important.
  • GMAW (MIG/MAG) welding experience preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
  • Highly motivated with good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
  • Attention to detail and a strong drive to succeed.
  • Must pass a competency test and pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
