Automatic Handling International, Inc. in Michigan seeks a skilled fabricator to build large structures for custom machines. You will prepare steel for welding, follow blueprints, drill and tap holes, and perform precision welds.

This role requires at least 2 years of welding experience, ability to read drawings, and proficiency with common shop tools. A team-oriented environment with a clean shop and strong safety practices.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of welding/ fabrication experience.
• Proficient with reading blueprints and interpreting drawings.
• Able to weld in 1G position and perform manual welding processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform GMAW (Mig)
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Operate jig saw, belt sander, band saw, and various other power tools.
• Operate 4.5- and 7-inch angle grinders
• Operate Matobo cut-off wheel
• Operate 5- and 10-ton overhead cranes and other industrial equipment
• Perform oxy-fuel cutting and plasma torching
• Identify potential problems with designs and work with engineers to find a solution
• Clean work area at end of shift

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 2 years working experience
• Proficient of fractions and decimals
• Able to use Windows PC
• Own welpers, combination square, framing square, tape measure, welding hood, and basic hand tools
• Must be able to weld in the 1G position using a manual welding process.
• Pay commensurate with experience
