Job summary

Qualifications

• MIG welding experience and ability to weld from light tacking to heavy flat, overhead and vertical.
• Ability to read, understand and follow job orders and blueprints.
• Strong problem solving and shop math skills (fractions and decimals).
• Proficient with standard measuring devices and welding related tools.
• Comfort operating grinders, ironworkers, torches and related equipment.
• Ability to stand for long periods (up to 10 hours) on concrete in varying temperatures.
• Good hand-eye coordination and visual acuity.
• Capable of climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching and stooping as required.
• Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds and work independently.
• Excellent attendance history and willingness to overtime/weekends when needed.
• Must be able to speak, read, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Welds wide ranges from light tacking to heavy flat, overhead and vertical.
• Verifies welds meet product specifications and quality standards.
• Reads blueprints to measure and position metal components for welding operations.
• Operates a wide range of power tools including saws, grinders, drills, welders, overhead cranes, hoists, and forklifts.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area and performs regular tool maintenance.
