Job Details

Hours: Monday through Thursday, 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM, with mandatory overtime on Fridays and Saturdays based on business needs.

Job Summary

Perform various duties including setting welding fixtures, assembling and clamping parts, and MIG welding joints on a variety of parts and assemblies following standard practices and procedures.

Qualifications
  • Experience with MIG welding, formal MIG welding training, or ability to pass a welding test.
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
Essential Job Functions
  1. Adjust locating rails and stops for length, width, and component positioning; use assembly components as setting gauges; measure within 1/16 inch; refer to charts and sketches for setup.
  2. Place posts, braces, connectors, foot plates, or other components into fixtures; rotate braces; position parts to stops; clamp in place using various clamps.
  3. MIG weld beads or tack all accessible joints; remove clamps and move assemblies for complete welding.
  4. Manually weld connectors or touch up welds from auto beam welders as needed.
  5. Adjust wire feed, heat, and gas flow settings.
  6. Use gas torch for notching and heating parts for bending as required.
  7. Retrieve materials from storage or rolling mills; mount welded wire on reels; assemble to wire feed mechanisms with assistance.
  8. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  9. Identify equipment malfunctions or defective materials; report to supervisor; observe safety rules and practices.

Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
