Job summary

Wastequip is seeking an experienced MIG welder to assemble components and structures with precision, interpreting drawings and work orders. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and timely production delivery in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include setting parts, tack welding, welding along lines, checking bead size, and operating all equipment, including Fanuc robots. Candidates must pass a 2G MIG test and have at least six months of MIG welding experience.

Qualifications

• Must pass a 2G welding test in GMAW with .045 solid wire.
• Six months of MIG welding experience required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Knowledge of basic math, tape measure reading.
• Ability to read blueprints and measuring tape preferred.
• Experienced in a fast-paced production environment preferred.
• Able to pass all EHS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Positions parts in jigs or fixtures, or clamps parts together along layout marks.
• Lays out, positions, and tack welds work pieces.
• Welds along vertical, horizontal weld lines.
• Connects regulator valve to tank. Turns regulator valve to activate flow of gas, and adjusts gas mixture and pressure to obtain desired flow rate.
• Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.
• Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or splatter.
• Complete tasks while adhering to production schedules.
• Communicate any issues or quality concerns to department Supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards.
• Operates all tools and equipment safely.
• Report any safety issues immediately to the manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
