Job description

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable materials by applying appropriate welding techniques.
  2. Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine the appropriate welding process.
  3. Inspect completed welds to ensure structural soundness.
  4. Comply with all safety requirements and protocols.
  5. Prepare materials and set up for welding devices or robots as needed.
  6. Complete apprenticeship and/or formal training in the area of specialty if required.
  7. Support safety and quality programs by following rules and established processes.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Shifts

  • First shift: 5AM-3:30PM, Monday-Thursday, with Fridays reserved for overtime when necessary.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Operate forklifts and cranes.
  • Read and interpret simple blueprints.
  • Use hand tools such as hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, grinders, and banders.
  • Use measuring tools like tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Convert fractions to decimals and vice versa.
  • Convert metric to English units.
  • Provide high-quality work to internal and external customers.
  • Set up and operate processing machines.
  • Communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken.
  • Have strong attention to detail.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Pass a MIG welder certification.
  • Relevant apprenticeship, experience, or vocational training preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift 20-50 pounds repeatedly throughout a shift.
  • Bend, sit, stand, twist, and stoop for long periods.
  • Walk 2-5 miles during a shift.
  • Have good vision of 20/30 with corrective lenses.
  • Maintain hand and finger coordination for precise manipulation.
