Job description

We are a quality metal fabrication business located at Willis TX. We are currently looking for a skilled MIG welder for nightshift to add to our team. In this role, it will be your job to create metal projects that match our clients’ specifications.

To do well in this role, you will need to be very comfortable with the MIG welding process. You should also be physically strong enough to complete a wide variety of welding tasks. We want to hire a MIG welder who has completed some formal training in the field or previous professional experience in a similar role.

Essential Functions

• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, or production schedules to determine product, job instructions, or specifications.
• Select the appropriate tools, materials, and gas ratios for different jobs.
• Prepare both metals and work surfaces for the production process.
• Measure, cut, and drill materials to meet the specifications of the project.
• Test the strength of your welds after each has been made.
• Keep your welding tools clean and functional.
• Assist us in maintaining our inventory and the cleanliness of our shop.
• Follow all relevant safety procedures and protocols.
• Operates boom lift, overhead crane, and forklift in an efficient and safe manner.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED.
• MIG welding training or MIG welding experience.
• Familiarity with the most used MIG welding tools, techniques, and materials.
• Ability to work with others on projects.
• Work with little supervision and be self-motivated and highly energetic.
• Detail‑oriented with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
• Ability to understand and follow company’s safety standards and guidelines.
• Ability to communicate – orally and in writing both internally
