Job summary

Basin Material Handling in Sturgis, MI is seeking skilled MIG Welders for their award‑winning team. The role focuses on manual welding along weld lines, interpreting blueprints and measurements, and maintaining weld quality.

Candidates should have 2+ years of welding experience, the ability to read safety manuals, and be eligible for forklift certification. Schedule includes 6:00am–2:30pm, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of welding experience.
• Read calibrated tape measures and interpret blueprints.
• Read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions.
• Forklift certificate or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Manually guide electrode along weld line to achieve fusion depth and bead quality.
• Support line setup and verify weld quality among team members.
• Adhere to 5S and reporting metrics as required.

Basin Material Handling is seeking talented, experienced MIG Welders to join our award-winning team. BMH has earned “Packaging Supplier of the Year awards” for the last six years from Toyota. Come join our talented team!

Welder’s essential duties and responsibilities:

• Manually guide electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld and size of molten puddle
• BPS reporting and metrics are required, including 5S
• May act as line leader, setting up lines, and checking weld quality of co-workers as required
• Other duties as assigned

Required experience and skills:

• 2+ years of welding experience
• Perform simple shop math and convert decimals to fractional equivalents
• Read a calibrated tape measure
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Ability to read and interpret documents finished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and quality and procedure manuals
• Forklift certificate/ability to receive forklift certificate

Schedule:

• Monday-Friday with Saturdays as needed
• 6:00am-2:30pm
• Will be required to work overtime as needed
