Job summary

Metraflex Company in Chicago, IL is seeking skilled TIG Welders to cut and join metals at our manufacturing facility. You will operate equipment to assemble mechanical structures or parts with precision, and your role is essential to building a strong infrastructure.

A welder must follow all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of different metals and their properties, familiarity with ASME Section 9 welding, and the ability to read drawings/templates.

Qualifications

• Experience welding to ASME Section 9 standard.
• Familiarity welding open root schedule 40 pipe.
• Familiarity with MIG welding is a plus.
• Ability to select equipment, plan layout, assemble and weld.
• Knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage, and welding technique.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 20-60 lbs.
• Must be able to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Must be able to effectively work off drawings/templates/specifications.
• Must be able to accurately verify quality and quantity of piping products.
• Must be able to position, align, and fit components together.
