Job summary

Sulzer is seeking a skilled Welder to join our manufacturing team in Portland, OR. You will perform MIG and TIG welding on stainless steel components, read blueprints, and fabricate complex assemblies with a strong emphasis on quality and safety.

The role requires troubleshooting ability, attention to detail, and commitment to meeting print tolerances in a fast-paced environment. Strong teamwork and adherence to safety policies are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of fabrication and welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency in MIG and TIG welding, with a strong emphasis on stainless steel.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication specifications.
• Strong fabrication skills including layout, cutting, fitting, forming, and assembly.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex build and fabrication challenges.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality MIG and TIG welding on stainless steel components and assemblies.
• Read, interpret, and work from blueprints and welding specifications.
• Lay out, measure, cut, fit, and form materials to specifications.
• Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components using welding techniques.
• Troubleshoot fabrication issues and develop effective solutions.
• Perform self-inspections to ensure conformance to prints and tolerances.
• Set up and adjust welding equipment and parameters per work specifications.
• Maintain welding equipment and perform routine inspections and basic maintenance.
