Job summary

Wabtec in Hibbing, MN, seeks an experienced welder to perform MIG and TIG welding on mild and stainless steel parts, and to work with the Fabrication and Paint departments. The role involves training and mentoring, with opportunities to grow skills within a collaborative team.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED with welding training or experience, knowledge of blueprint reading, and the ability to pass required safety and drug/background checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1 year related experience or completion of a technical college welding course.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Must pass pre-employment tests and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate MIG and TIG welding machines.
• Use shop equipment such as torches, grinders, drills, plasma torches.
• Assemble and weld oil cooler and radiator frames and sub-assemblies.
• Prepare parts for final assembly.
• Maintain and care for tools and equipment.
• Change gas bottles as required.
• Assist in other production areas as needed if qualified.
• Follow safety guidelines and procedures.
