Job summary

Old Dominion Brush Company in Richmond, VA is seeking a Welder to lay out, fit, and weld fabricated steel frames and parts on the production floor based on blueprints. You will measure components and verify weld quality to ensure accuracy and durability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; metal fabrication experience advantageous.
• Experience with MIG welding and some TIG welding.
• Ability to read drawings and blueprints, and to measure components accurately.
• Must follow safety PPE requirements and work in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Welds fabricated steel frames and/or metal parts on production floor.
• Reads and marks locations on assembly using blueprints; verifies positions with straight edge and square.
• Welds in various positions (vertical, flat, horizontal, overhead) using torch, plasma cutter, or grinder.
• Prepares and finishes metal components by grinding or sanding; handles material movement and storage.
• Operates material handling equipment and overhead crane/hoist; adheres to safety protocols.
