Job summary

Old Dominion Brush Company (ODB) is seeking a Welder in Richmond, Virginia, within the Welding and Fabrication department. The Welder lays out, fits, and welds fabricated steel frames on the production floor per blueprints and verifies component positions with measuring tools.

Position requires MIG welding and some TIG welding, reading drawings, and adhering to PPE and safety standards; experience with JD Edwards is a plus. Wage range listed: $20–$25 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One year of metal fabrication/manufacturing experience preferred.
• Vocational welding education may contribute to experience.
• JD Edwards experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Welds in vertical, flat, horizontal or overhead positions.
• Lays out and welds fabricated steel frames and parts on production floor per blueprints.
• Reads drawings and measures components using tape measure and squares.
• Preps and finishes metal components by grinding or sanding.
• Operates overhead crane/hoist and material handling equipment.
• Wears PPE and maintains safety protocols.
