Salary: $21-$27/hour

Metko, Inc., a local leader and family-owned business in the custom metal and tank fabrication industry, is seeking to hire a full-time Welder for a 2nd shift opening at its New Holstein, WI, facility due to continued growth.

*** PLEASE NOTE: FOR THIS OPENING, WE IDEALY SEEK INDIVIDUALS HAVING CURRENT PROFICIENCY IN BOTH MIG AND TIG WELDING PRINCIPLES ON MILD STEEL AND ALUMINUM SURFACES. ***

Shift hours are from 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Training may occur during 1st shift hours (6:30 AM to 2:30 PM) temporarily.

We consider candidates with all levels of welding experience. Starting pay depends on experience.

We are a local leader in the custom metal fabrication industry experiencing sustained growth.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Follow all safety procedures.
  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on various surfaces, including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to determine weld requirements when necessary.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment.
  • Use industry tools such as portable grinders, hand shears, files, and scrapers.
  • Produce quality metal-fabricated parts.
  • Follow instructions from work orders and blueprints.
  • Maintain a neat and organized work area.
  • Complete accurate documentation as required.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Proven welding skills, preferably with 2+ years of current MIG and TIG experience on multiple surfaces (mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel).
  • Completion of a welding curriculum from an accredited technical college is a plus.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, team-oriented, with good communication skills.
  • Proven safety and quality record.
  • Detail-oriented, capable of inspecting materials for quality using measuring devices and drawings.
  • Preference for production welding experience; experience with pressure testing and metal finishing is a plus.
  • Ability to read blueprints with common weld symbols and specifications is desirable.
