Job summary

Advanced Integration Technology, LP in New Baltimore, MI, is seeking a welder to assemble mechanical structures with precision and to repair products to meet customer requirements. The role requires reading blueprints and using welding and fabrication equipment on a high-energy, fast-paced line.

Candidates should have MIG/TIG welding experience, a technical certificate or associates degree, and the ability to work 4:30pm–1:30am with overtime.

Qualifications

  • Associates or technical school preferred.
  • 1–3 years MIG & TIG welding experience.
  • Welding certificates are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate SMAW and GMAW welding processes.
  • Operate forklift, cranes, hoists, slings, grinders, drills, and measurement tools.
  • Select and install torches, tips, filler rods, and flux per specifications.
  • Cut, contour, and bevel metal per blueprints and templates.
  • Grind and repair welds; dismantle/reassemble parts as needed.
  • TIG & MIG weld components using Aluminum, Steel, and Invar.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Summary

The welder is responsible for operating appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts with a great deal of precision, this is important as it provides the foundation for strong infrastructure. They also will repair products that do not meet the customers needs.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
  • Operate and/or use forklift, cranes, hoists, slings, grinders, cutting touches, hand tools, drills, punches, and instruments of measurement.
  • Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux, according to welding chart specifications or types and thicknesses of metals.
  • Fill holes, cut, contour, and bevel metal plates and structural shapes to dimensions as specified by blueprints, layouts, workorders, and templates.
  • Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or splatter using hand scrappers, portable grinders, or arc-cutting equipment.
  • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts as necessary.
  • Tig & Mig Weld components using various materials such as Aluminum, Steel, and Invar.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education And Work Experience
  • Associates or Technical School preferred.
  • One to Three years experience with MIG & TIG welding and fabrication processes.
  • Welding Certificates.

  • This position may require a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Work Hours
