Job summary

RIM Recruitment Professionals seeks a skilled MIG/TIG Welder for a machine shop in Elmwood Park, IL. The role is hands-on, requiring reading prints independently, managing own jobs, and delivering clean, high-quality welds with an emphasis on safety.

Welders will perform MIG and TIG welding to blueprints and specifications, read symbols, and produce consistent welds with minimal supervision. Hours are 7am–5pm, Monday–Friday, with a competitive hourly wage.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional welding experience in machine shop or fabrication.
• Strong MIG and TIG welding skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
• Commitment to safe work practices.
• Preferred 5+ years of welding experience.

Responsibilities

• Weld MIG and TIG to blueprints and specifications.

MIG and TIG Welder –Machine Shop Elmwood Park, IL | $29–$36 per hour, based on experience and skill level Hours: 7am - 5pm Mon - Fri

About the Role

A machine shop in Elmwood Park is adding a skilled welder. This is a hands‑on position for someone who reads prints independently, manages their own jobs, and takes pride in clean, consistent MIG and TIG work, quality, and safety.

What You'll Do

• Welding Perform MIG and TIG welding to blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical specifications Read weld symbols, dimensions, and notes to select the right process and setup Produce clean, consistent welds with minimal supervision
• Quality and Safety Inspect your own welds for quality, fit, and compliance with the drawing Follow all shop safety procedures and keep your work area clean and organized

What You Bring

• 3+ years of professional welding experience in a machine shop, manufacturing, or fabrication environment (strong candidates with 2+ years may be considered)
• Strong MIG welding skills and TIG welding experience
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical specifications
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
• Commitment to safe work practices
• Preferred 5+ years of welding experience
• Welding certifications
• Additional machine shop or industrial manufacturing experience
