Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC) offers internship and co-op opportunities to high-performing college students seeking meaningful hands-on experiences in engineering fields. Interns work alongside experienced professionals on diverse projects, guided by core values of safety, integrity, inclusion, collaboration, and excellence.

Responsibilities include project scope development, pipeline integrity programs, and fieldwork at various facilities.

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an engineering discipline (Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Petroleum/Natural Gas, or Electrical).
Concurrent enrollment in a degree program for the duration of the internship/co-op.
Strong academic performance.
On-site availability for 40 hours per week.
Valid driver’s license for work-related travel.
Authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship required now or in future).
Multiple work terms may be preferred.

Responsibilities

Project scope development, including estimating, scheduling, design, contractor engagement and construction oversight.
DOT-regulated pipeline integrity and maintenance programs.
Field work at pipelines, compressor stations, pump stations, gas processing plants and related facilities.
