Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC) offers internship and co-op opportunities for high-performing students to gain hands-on experience in engineering fields. Interns work alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative environment across a range of midstream and on-site facilities.

Roles include automation, electrical, process, project, operations, reliability, and pipeline integrity engineering, with fieldwork at various facilities and a focus on safety and environmental stewardship.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Petroleum/Natural Gas, or Electrical Engineering.
• Concurrent enrollment in a Bachelor's degree (or higher) for the duration of the experience.
• Strong academic performance expected.
• Available to work on site 40 hours per week.
• Valid driver's license for work-related travel.

Responsibilities

• Support real projects and routine operations and maintenance.
• Engage in project scope development including estimating, scheduling, design, contractor engagement and construction oversight.
• Participate in field monitoring at pipelines, compressor stations, pump stations, gas processing plants and related facilities.
