A local non-profit with a 50-year history of supporting young people in crisis seeks to build a team of people committed to assist our communities with youth who need immediate intervention. This is an opportunity to join a new approach helping kids with challenges. The role requires working in a secure setting on a daily basis, providing the safety that these youth and their communities deserve.

Responsibilities

• Work with local law enforcement officials and juvenile authorities to assist youth with urgent shelter needs while longer-term treatment interventions are prepared.
• Act as a point of first contact to explain to youth their situation, set roles and expectations as they enter the program, and provide for their immediate needs.
• Maintain a group environment based on safety, security, and trust that enables an orderly and consistent routine in directing youth behavior.
• Complete a rigorous training program that prepares you to build relationships with boundaries, address youth behaviors, and maintain healthy living arrangements.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate clear 1:1 communication, establish rapport with youth, and follow a strict routine that supports a stable living environment.
• A level of fitness that permits assisting with the physical care and safety of individuals and groups for the benefit of all program members.
• A minimum level of study indicating the capacity to understand and apply regulations as they pertain to a secure setting (minimum of 60 college credits required).
