Job Description

AECOM’s Portland Transportation group is actively seeking a highly motivated, experienced Civil Engineer with expertise in railway, roadway, highway, and civil site design. This role involves working within an established engineering team on a variety of transportation projects across AECOM’s West Region. Projects may include:

  1. Roadway design
  2. Freight and transit track design
  3. Transportation and multi-modal planning
  4. Transit planning and design
  5. Construction management and safety audits

The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues throughout the West Region on rail/transit infrastructure projects for various government levels. Responsibilities include serving as a senior technical resource, providing specialized input, developing procedures, participating in interdisciplinary reviews, estimating costs, ensuring quality control, preparing technical specifications, and managing junior staff.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree plus 6 years of relevant experience or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Oregon Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within six months
  • Experience with transportation/civil infrastructure design, calculations, and plans
  • Experience designing railroads/roadways for transportation projects
  • Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment
  • Proficiency with InRoads and/or Civil 3D software for design and modeling
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Design Build experience (preferred)
