Job summary

ENVENTION is seeking mid-level software engineers to join our Huntsville team, developing low-latency C++ applications on Linux and real-time middleware for the Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS).

You will implement RTI DDS messaging, process sensor and tracking data from sources like Sentinel A3/A4, and work within SAFe/SCRUM practices to deliver high-assurance combat software onsite in Huntsville, AL. Active DoD Secret Clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in a technical discipline.
• 5+ years of software engineering on Linux with modern C++.
• Hands-on experience with RTI DDS or similar middleware.
• Technical experience with sensor processing, tracking, or radar data handling.
• Experience in Agile environments (SAFe/SCRUM) using Atlassian tools.

ENVENTION has an immediate need for several mid-level software engineers with strong C++ and real-time middleware experience to join our team supporting sensor integration and tracking capabilities for the Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS). This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a transformative air defense system that integrates advanced technologies to protect against modern threats. You'll work on high-performance sensor processing software, collaborate across disciplines, and help develop solutions that shape the future of Army Air Defense.

This position isn't just about handling sensor feeds; it's about delivering precise composite tracking and Combat Identification (CID) to provide commanders with real-time tactical dominance.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

• Develop Low-Latency C++ Software: Write, optimize, and maintain high-performance C++ applications operating within Linux environments.
• Implement Middleware Messaging: Utilize Real-Time Innovations (RTI) DDS to manage high-throughput, low-latency publish/subscribe messaging across distributed nodes.
• Process Sensor & Tracking Data: Develop algorithms to ingest, process, and correlate data from sensors such as Sentinel A3/A4 to maintain an accurate composite track picture.
• Integrate Combat Identification (CID): Support the design and implementation of CID logic to ensure rapid and accurate threat discrimination.
• Execute in SAFe/SCRUM: Collaborate in an Agile SAFe framework, using the Atlassian suite (Jira/Confluence) to plan, track, and complete software increments.
• System Integration & Testing: Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate sensor software components with hardware interfaces and broader battle management nodes.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5+ years (3 years with a Master's degree) of software engineering experience utilizing modern C++ on Linux platforms.
• Hands-on experience with RTI DDS or similar real-time publish/subscribe middleware platforms.
• Technical experience with sensor processing, tracking, or radar data handling.
• Experience working in Agile environments (SAFe/SCRUM) utilizing Atlassian tools.
• Must be available to work full-time onsite in Huntsville, AL.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 9+ years (7 years with a Master's degree) of C++ software engineering experience.
• Direct experience integrating air defense sensors such as Sentinel A3/A4 into composite tracking or IAMD system architectures.
• Domain experience with Combat Identification (CID) algorithms and track management systems.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
