Job summary

Midland Asphalt Materials Inc., a Barrett Industries subsidiary, seeks Asphalt Distributor Operators for our Pennsylvania facilities. This seasonal, full-time role runs mainly May through September/October, 40–60 hours per week, with overtime after 8 hours and 40 hours per week. Benefits remain active year-round.

Candidates must have a valid Class B CDL with Airbrakes and Tanker endorsements and a clean driving record. Class A CDL with Hazmat is preferred. PPE must be worn at all times.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid CDL-B with Airbrakes and Tanker endorsements and a good driving record.
• Hazmat endorsement on Class A CDL is preferred.
• Must wear and maintain PPE as required.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying weather conditions.
• Occasionally required to work nights, weekends, and overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Operate an asphalt distributor and apply emulsions to roads.
• Coordinate with Foreman for application rate and special instructions.
• Understand emulsions and how to use each safely and effectively.
• Keep track of time and quantities per project and report to dispatch.
• Perform related duties such as shovel work, setting string line, and changing spray nozzles.

Midland Asphalt Materials Inc., a subsidiary of Barrett Industries Corporation, provides advanced pavement preservation solutions for our customers’ needs. We are casually recruiting for Asphalt Distributor Operators for our Pennsylvania operations, out of our Clearfield, PA facility. This is a seasonal, full‑time opportunity running primarily from May through September/October, offering 40–60 hours per week, with it being September, we are looking for drivers who may be interested in joining us next season. Drivers receive additional overtime after 8 hours per day on top of weekly overtime after 40 hours. Although the role is seasonal, your benefits remain active year‑round, ensuring continuous coverage even during the off‑season. You may also be eligible for unemployment benefits during the winter months, providing additional financial support until the next season begins.

Main Responsibilities

• Operate an asphalt distributor and apply specialized emulsions to roads
• Coordinate with Foreman for application rate and special instructions
• Understand the different emulsions and how to use each one safely and effectively
• Keep track of time and quantities of each project and communicate that to dispatch office
• Perform related duties such as shovel work, setting string line, adding or removing extensions, and changing spray nozzles

Experience And Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class B CDL with Airbrakes and Tanker Endorsements and good driving record
• Class A CDL, Hazmat Endorsement preferred
• Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
• Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Regularly required to climb in and out of vehicles and/or equipment
• Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Regularly required to stand and walk across uneven terrain
• Frequent exposure to loud noise
• Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles; exposure to high temperatures
• Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
• Required to work varying hours, including nights/weekends, and overnight travel with overnight stays
