Job summary

Trace Systems Inc. is seeking a Middleware Team Lead in Radford, Virginia to deploy and manage middleware software supporting customer applications. The project is currently in the proposal stage, with responsibilities spanning architecture, deployment, and ongoing operations.

The role requires ensuring security compliance (STIGs), coordinating deployments, and maintaining mid-tier infrastructure across Linux, UNIX, and Windows environments.

Qualifications

• Active security clearance (Secret) is required.
• US Citizenship is required due to contract requirements.
• Experience in Computer Science or IT.
• 3+ years’ experience with Application Server architecture in a large enterprise environment.
• Knowledge of IIS, Tomcat, Apache, WebLogic, WebSphere, or similar servers.
• Knowledge of SOAP and REST web services.
• XML knowledge is required.
• Familiarity with Java or C# to assist developers in debugging.

Responsibilities

• Architecting infrastructure, installing and configuring application and web servers, portals, and related software in Linux, UNIX, and Windows environments.
• Maintaining infrastructure to meet availability and performance standards.
• Assist in scheduling deployment activity and new mid-tier installations.
• Developing security standards in the mid-tier and ensuring systems meet ARMY security requirements.
• Developing and maintaining mid-tier system monitoring and dashboards for proactive management.
• Applying knowledge of STIGs processes and procedures.
• Performing a Security Readiness Review (SRR) and documenting SRR findings in a POA&M.
