Job description

Remote

We are looking for a hands-on Azure DevOps Engineer to lead AWS-to-Azure migration initiatives. You’ll work on environment automation, CI/CD pipelines, and migration itself. Ideal candidates combine strong Azure DevOps expertise with cross-cloud understanding and infrastructure as code best practices.

About the project:

The initial client need is to migrate infrastructure from AWS to Azure due to a new enterprise agreement with Microsoft. The first phase will be fully focused on this migration effort and is estimated to last a few months. After that, there’s potential for long-term involvement in Azure infrastructure support and development.

The role is preferably full-time, but part-time arrangements can be considered for the right candidate.

Requirements:
  • Solid commercial experience with Azure DevOps services and activities
  • Hands-on with Terraform or similar IaC tools (Bicep/ARM also acceptable)
  • Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows
  • Good understanding of Azure networking, identity, and security services (e.g., VNets, Key Vault, Application Gateway)
  • Experience working with AWS infrastructure and services
  • Familiarity with cloud migration projects, especially AWS → Azure
  • Container orchestration experience, ideally with AKS or EKS/ECS
  • Ability to map AWS services (e.g., S3, RDS, Aurora, SQS, Airflow, Secrets Manager) to Azure equivalents
  • Experience collaborating across development, security, and operations teams
Nice to Have:
  • Experience leading or architecting cross-cloud migration efforts
  • Working knowledge of Apache Airflow (MWAA) and its Azure alternatives
  • Familiarity with Azure DNS, Azure Firewall, Batch, or Function Apps
  • Proven ability to propose architectural improvements in existing DevOps setups
