Job summary

Newport Public School District Thompson Middle School in Newport, Rhode Island is seeking a Yearbook Advisor to oversee the school yearbook, coordinate with the school calendar, and supervise student activities and meetings at the middle school.

The role requires scheduling availability to meet advisory obligations, prior advisory exposure preferred, and employment at Thompson Middle School is favored. The position reports to the TMS Principal and offers a stipend for the 2026-2027 school year.

Qualifications

• Should have a work schedule which will enable him/her to meet the advisory obligations.
• Previous advisory experience desired.
• Present employment at Thompson Middle School is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities listed below as evidenced by previous experience.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and supervise meetings and activities on the premises of Thompson Middle School.
• Oversee the organization and content of the School Yearbook and review it with the Principal for authorization.
• Organizes and schedules meetings and activities to coordinate with the school calendar.
• Maintains financial accounting records and status reports to the principal.
• Ensures that students are transported according to school policy.
• Perform any other duties stipulated by the Principal of Thompson Middle School.
