Job summary

Wayland Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for Wayland Middle School. This role supports the academic, social, and emotional growth of adolescents within a collaborative team.

Requirements include a high school diploma (bachelor’s preferred) and experience with middle school students; strong communication and cultural competency are essential. Hours are 32 per week with competitive hourly pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience working with middle school students is highly preferred.
• Cultural competency: Experience working with diverse populations and commitment to diversity goals.

Responsibilities

• Support academic, social and emotional growth of adolescent learners.
• Provide academic support to students with special needs in both specialized and general education settings.
• Assist students in English Language Arts, science, social studies and mathematics.
• Adapt and scaffold instructional materials to meet individual student needs.
• Assist students in organizing and managing academic workload and classroom participation.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to implement instructional and behavioral supports.
