Middle School Teacher / Girls Coach (25-26 School Year)

Primary Purpose

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area, and coach students to develop skills and abilities to excel in sports. Enable students to develop competencies for successful societal participation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements or training for the assigned subject and level
• Current AED certification
• Clear Texas driver’s license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of core academic subjects and curriculum
• Coaching techniques and UIL rules
• Ability to instruct, manage student behavior, and work positively with staff and students
• Proficiency in computer software and organizational skills

Major Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans, considering individual student differences
• Use appropriate instructional strategies and materials
• Assess student learning styles and modify instruction accordingly
• Collaborate with staff to determine instructional goals
• Manage student behavior and create a conducive learning environment
• Supervise extracurricular and athletic activities, ensuring compliance with UIL rules and student eligibility
• Coordinate athletic schedules, travel, and equipment management
