Girard College is a full scholarship boarding school that fosters intellectual curiosity, social development and emotional growth in academically focused students from underserved communities. Girard College continuously seeks to recruit certified top teacher talent in the areas of: Middle Grades (5-8): Math, Science, Social Studies, English/Language Arts, French, Specialty (Art, Music, Health/PE, Library Science) and teachers with endorsements in STEM and Social, Emotional and Behavioral Wellness.

Our ideal teacher candidates will need to implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and instruction aligned to PA State Standards, work collaboratively with teachers in other disciplines as well as our residential staff who are responsible for overseeing after school advisory and program initiatives for our students.

Qualifications

Education Background and Minimum Requirements:

  • Teaching experience highly preferred with a proven record of high academic and social achievement
  • Minimum requirement of a bachelor’s degree in education, in the specific core content job area
  • Must possess a minimum of a Level I Instructional Certificate or above in the content area in which they are teaching from the PA Department of Education or must obtain Instructional Intern Certificate in the content area in which they teach within one year from date of hire.
