Job description

Salary: $41,613 (25 - 26 base salary)

Contract Days: 165

Daily: Three Forks operates on a four‑day school week, Monday through Thursday.

Reports to: MS Principal and Superintendent

Essential Functions
  • Plan and develop the course of study according to the curriculum guidelines of the District and state requirements, tailoring curriculum for multiple levels of academic ability and previous achievement.
  • Maintain experience in teaching or possess knowledge of technology curriculum.
  • Teach classes including Language Arts, Reading, PE, and a variety of electives.
  • Develop and present lesson plans using lectures, projects, exhibits, field trips, audio‑visual and library resources, computers, and the Internet.
  • Prepare assignments and tests for in‑school preparation and homework; monitor, correct, and grade student performances.
  • Conduct standardized tests in accordance with District policies and law.
  • Maintain classroom order and administer discipline when necessary to achieve proper behavior; may prescribe extra assignments or detention for student misconduct.
  • Share responsibility with other teachers and aides for monitoring halls, study periods, and the lunchroom.
  • Counsel students when academic difficulties or behavioral problems arise.
  • Keep records of academic performance, attendance, and social acclimation; report on all aspects of student development for school records, and parents; conduct parent‑teacher conferences regularly and as needed.
  • Consult with other professionals where there are indications of learning disabilities, drug or alcohol abuse, or problems of social adjustment; coordinate specialized intervention decisions with parents.
  • Report cases of suspected child abuse according to state law.
  • Comply with Board policies, rules, regulations, and directives.
  • Perform related duties, such as sponsoring a student organization or activity.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, educational conferences, professional training seminars, and workshops.
Desired Minimum Qualifications
  • Be appropriately licensed and endorsed in accordance with state statutes and Board of Public Education rules, or be considered appropriately assigned if the administrator is enrolled in an internship.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from students, parents, staff, and the community.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of employment and student matters.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works both inside and outside the school. The employee must meet deadlines with severe time constraints, is directly responsible for the safety, well‑being, and work output of students, and typically works in a low to moderate noise environment.

Physical Demands

Frequent sitting, walking and standing; twisting at the neck and waist; kneeling. Requires close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. May be required to lift or move up to 20 pounds.

Mental/Motor Demands

Job performance rarely involves routine tasks; frequent flexibility is required to shift between tasks. Guidance and reinforcement are infrequently available. The employee works within time constraints, maintains attentiveness intensity, and frequently engages in social interactions requiring oral and written communication.
