Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate’s degree or two years of college completed.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate (assistive certification provided on hire).
• Ability to assist in reading, writing, and math instruction.
• Ability to work well with children and communicate effectively.
• Preferred two years of experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Assist with physical needs and personal care for individual students.
• Manage behavior and intervene in crisis situations as needed.
• Recognize and adapt to differences in students' medical, physical, communicative, and emotional needs.
• Support motor skill development and instructional activities.
• Assist students in all school settings including lunchroom, bus, and playground.
• Keep the teacher informed of any special needs or problems.
