St. John the Evangelist School in Clinton, Maryland, is hiring a Middle School Social Studies teacher for the 2025-26 school year.

Job Details

Reporting to the Principal, the pay rate is $44,200 to $65,200. Please forward your resume and letter of interest to: sbento@saintjohnsschool.org.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Planning: Create lesson plans aligned with the Archdiocese of Washington standards, utilize assessments to inform instruction, and address diverse student needs.
  • Instruction: Deliver balanced instruction incorporating various teaching methods, administer assessments, and differentiate instruction based on data.
  • Classroom Management: Establish procedures, create a positive environment, set high expectations, and incorporate Catholic values.
  • Communication: Maintain grade books, communicate with parents and administration, and keep all stakeholders informed about student progress and assignments.
  • Catholic Identity: Foster Catholic beliefs, support religious practices, and participate in liturgical activities.
  • Non-Instructional Duties: Perform duties such as supervising recess, lunch, carpool, sponsoring clubs, attending meetings, and obtaining necessary certifications within three years.

Qualifications include a bachelor's degree, current certification in Maryland, Virginia, or D.C., knowledge of child development, and teaching experience (preferred).
