Job summary

Sinai Akiba Academy in Los Angeles is seeking an engaging Science Teacher for grades 6–8. You will design lessons, assess progress, manage classrooms, and support students’ academic and social-emotional growth using RULER and Responsive Classroom principles.

You will collaborate with colleagues, communicate with families, and participate in school activities and professional development to advance our mission and core Jewish values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in a Middle School setting.
• Experience with differentiated instruction and inclusive educational practices.
• Familiarity with educational technology and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Teach middle school science with engaging curriculum and assessment.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents and colleagues.
• Lead SEL check-ins and use RULER for social-emotional learning.
• Attend professional development and school events.
