Role Description

As a Middle School Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective science instruction to students in grades 6 and 7. You will create a positive and supportive learning environment that fosters a love of scientific exploration and helps students develop strong skills using the standards-based Amplify Science curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in an annual summer staff orientation and training.
  • Plan and deliver comprehensive science lessons aligned with state standards and curriculum objectives.
  • Plan and execute rigorous science labs.
  • Incorporate various teaching strategies including hands‑on activities, technology integration, and differentiated instruction.
  • Monitor student progress through regular assessments and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to ensure student success.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities.
  • Create and maintain an organized and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Participate in weekly coaching meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with Scholar Support Teammates to implement accommodations and modifications.
  • Track, celebrate, and respond to student data.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, education, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification in the appropriate subject area and grade level preferred.
