The Position:
The role of teachers at ICEF is to teach, develop expertise, and foster a culture of community and success. Our teachers must believe in and be committed to ICEF's mission and vision, and be passionate about bringing them to life. ICEF teachers are results-driven educators dedicated to empowering students to fulfill their dreams. We provide teachers with resources such as curriculum maps, instructional materials, videos, assessments, coaching, professional development, and support for innovative strategies.

Responsibilities:

To Students:

  • Create a joyful, safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment with high expectations.
  • Implement assigned curriculum to support all students, regardless of background or needs.
  • Achieve academic growth and mastery goals.
  • Plan lessons aligned with standards like Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards.
  • Incorporate feedback from leadership and coaching.
  • Build trusting relationships with students and families.
  • Implement school-wide systems and values.
  • Design intervention strategies for diverse learners.
  • Maintain subject matter expertise and seek continuous improvement.
  • Communicate proactively with parents about student performance.

To Other Staff:

  • Collaborate with colleagues to foster a professional culture.
  • Work with special education staff to differentiate instruction.
  • Communicate effectively to address school issues.
  • Submit lesson plans and related requirements timely.
  • Participate in professional development.
  • Support fellow staff when possible.
  • Respect colleagues’ work and mission alignment.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Commitment to ICEF’s mission and vision.
  • Valid California single subject teaching credential in Science and English Learner Authorization.
  • Applicants with credentials or pathways to obtain California credentials by August 1st are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • TB and background check clearances.

Preferred:

  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • At least one year of prior teaching experience.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary: $68,000 - $125,000
Benefits include Medical, Life Insurance, Dental, Vision, and 403b retirement plans. Sick leave and vacation in accordance with policies.

Physical Demands:

Regular sitting, talking, hearing; occasional standing, walking, reaching, lifting up to 25 pounds; vision requirements include close focus and focus adjustment.
