Middle School Science Teacher (25/26 School Year)

Job Purpose

Under the direction of the Principal, the Middle School Science Teacher will lead the instruction and training of scholars in their classroom and/or assigned grade level(s). The teacher will work closely with scholars, parents, and school administration to ensure academic success and character development for all students.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement daily instruction plans aligned with educational goals.
  2. Employ creative, differentiated, and research-based instructional strategies to engage students in meaningful learning experiences.
  3. Conduct assessments, track progress, and analyze data to monitor student mastery and identify areas for improvement.
  4. Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
  5. Assist with extracurricular activities and scholar recruitment efforts as needed.
  6. Serve as a biblical role model and representative of Open Sky Education, embodying our values and faith.
  7. Comply with the Code of Conduct and Statement of Faith.
  8. Engage in the faith life of scholars and collaborate with team members.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Competencies
  • Provide vigilant supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of scholars on campus and during school functions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
  • Valid Wisconsin teaching credential or willingness to obtain one.
  • Minimum of 12 educational credits post-3 years of teaching experience.
  • 1-3 years of teaching experience, urban experience preferred.
  • Experience working with students and families in low-income urban communities.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office and experience with virtual learning platforms.
  • Proven track record of student achievement.
