Matchbook Learning at Wendell Phillips School 63, serving students in Kindergarten through 8th grade
The Match High School and Career Center, currently serving 9th grade and expanding to 10th grade in fall 2025

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Science Teacher to join our team at Matchbook Learning at Wendell Phillips for the 2025–2026 school year. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for history, civics, and geography while creating an inclusive and dynamic learning environment that challenges students to think critically, engage in current events, and understand the world around them.
Required:
Education:Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Studies, History, or related field
Certification: State Standard teaching certification or equivalent out-of-state certificate.
Experience: Previous experience working with elementary or middle school students is strongly preferred.
Preferred:
At least two years teaching experience in an urban or low-income setting.
Demonstrated a record of success in the classroom (as a classroom teacher preferred, assistant and student teaching evidence considered).
Familiarity with current educational technology and digital learning tools.
Demonstrated an understanding of how to effectively analyze student data to guide instruction.
