Qualifications

• Valid teaching license or eligibility for licensure in Science for middle grades in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

• Commitment to equity, culturally responsive teaching, and positive classroom management strategies.
• Experience with collaborative team teaching, interdisciplinary projects, or STEM initiatives is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.

Role Description

The Middle School Science Teacher will provide daily instruction in science to middle school students, using engaging, standards-aligned lessons that support a variety of learning styles. Responsibilities include planning and delivering lessons, assessing student progress, providing feedback, and maintaining accurate records of grades and attendance. The teacher will create a safe, inclusive classroom climate, manage classroom behavior, and integrate hands-on activities and technology to support science learning. Additional duties include collaborating with colleagues and families, participating in professional development, and contributing to school initiatives and extracurricular activities as needed. This is a full-time, on-site position located in New Kent, VA.
