We are seeking an inspiring and dedicated Middle School Science Teacher to join our dynamic and growing middle school community. As a science teacher, you will foster curiosity, scientific thinking, and a deep understanding of the natural world. Your lessons will be engaging, inquiry-based, and rigorous, helping students develop critical thinking skills and a strong foundation in scientific concepts that prepare them for high school and beyond.

We value educators who create hands-on, inquiry-driven lessons that encourage students to explore, experiment, and develop a love for science. You will stay informed on current scientific discoveries and integrate real-world applications into your teaching to deepen student engagement. Collaboration across disciplines will be key, as you intentionally create interdisciplinary learning experiences that enhance students’ understanding. In your classroom, you will cultivate an environment where students think critically, ask meaningful questions, and apply scientific reasoning to solve problems. As a role model, you will demonstrate curiosity, innovation, and a passion for discovery, inspiring students to engage deeply with the world of science.

Beyond the classroom, our teachers play an integral role in the school community by providing extra support to students, offering guidance, and building meaningful and supportive relationships. Primary Responsibilities:

1. Develop and expertly teach courses that challenge students, support diversity, and demonstrate a strong commitment to their success with the highest standards for each individual.
2. Express enthusiasm for intellectual exploration and exemplify lifelong learning by designing instruction that highlights critical thinking and real-world problem-solving.
3. Teach advanced material beyond grade standards in engaging and interactive ways that convey your enthusiasm for the subject and educate students to an internationally competitive standard.
4. Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to create a community of intelligent, talented, and creative individuals who are passionate about working in a professional and academic environment.
5. Support the welfare of all students via proactive and restorative classroom practices.
6. Keep parents updated on their children's learning and actively communicate with them.
7. Show interest and capacity to advise students, as each teacher is required to lead student activities, act as a club advisor or coach, and contribute beyond the classroom to enhance school programs and activities.
8. Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion of people and programs.
9. Actively participate in various aspects of the student experience and school operations, such as chaperoning a grade-level field trip, supporting student events, serving on committees, and creating new school programs.

Qualifications:

1. A bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in a field of study in or related to Science.
2. A minimum of two years of teaching and training experience at the middle, high school, or college level.
3. Excellent oral and written communication skills, and experience teaching the craft of writing and research within the discipline.
4. A readiness to explore innovative teaching strategies and formats. Capability to implement differentiated learning and instruction as needed.
5. Eager to foster supportive relationships with students in and out of the classroom.
6. A commitment to actively and collaboratively engage with colleagues in curriculum development and alignment.
7. A commitment to continuous professional growth and an enthusiasm for lifelong learning.
8. An ability to create and promote an inclusive learning environment.
9. Strong organizational and time management skills.

Compensation:

1. The full-time equivalent salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000. The starting salary is based on several factors, including type and years of experience, education level, and expertise.
