Job summary

Trillium Academy is seeking a Middle School Teacher to teach science and math (up to Algebra 1) in Seattle. The role includes small-group instruction, advisory responsibilities, and collaboration with the student support team to nurture 2e learners.

The position operates Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM with occasional evenings and weekends for school events. Start date is August 17, 2026, with a compensation package including health and retirement benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Science, Education, or related field.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction across math and science topics.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship).
  • Experience with neurodivergent or 2e students; hands-on STEM.

Role Overview

We are seeking creative, flexible, and collaborative Middle School Teacher to join our dynamic team. This position will be structured to teach a combination of science and math (up to Algebra 1), depending on our scheduling needs. Trillium teachers play a critical role in fostering a positive, inclusive classroom culture that supports both the intellectual and social-emotional development of 2e students. Teachers work within small group instructional settings, occasionally in collaboration with another teacher, and serve students across grades 5–12. The ideal candidate brings the experience, flexibility, and genuine enthusiasm needed to teach highly capable, asynchronous learners.

What You'll Do
  • Design and deliver differentiated math and science lessons tailored to each student’s needs and strengths
  • Build conceptual understanding through hands-on labs, experiments, and real-world problem-solving
  • Sequence coursework across a range of levels (e.g. foundations through advanced math; life, each, and physical science), adjusting pacing for asynchronous learners
  • Serve as an advisory teacher, supporting students’ social-emotional growth and sense of belonging
  • Assess student progress and provide timely, meaningful feedback
  • Communicate regularly with families and collaborate with colleagues and the student support team
  • Help foster an inclusive classroom culture that celebrations neurodiversity
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Science, Education, or a related field
  • Strong content knowledge with the ability to differentiate instruction across math and science topics
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a growth mindset
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer (no sponsorship available for this role)
  • Experience with neurodivergent or 2e students and hands-on STEM instruction
  • Preferred: WA State teaching certification (or eligibility)

Salary range: $70,000-$80,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Trillium Academy offers acompetitive compensation and benefits package including:
