Job summary

Kickemuit Middle School in Warren, Rhode Island seeks a Middle School Science Coordinator to support rigorous coursework and instructional materials aligned to state standards, guiding teachers and administration.

This part-time teacher-leader stipend position includes a $3,000 annual stipend, 40 hours beyond contract, with start immediately and reports to the Building Principal; a collaborative role focused on program development, data analysis, and professional learning.

Qualifications

• Valid Rhode Island certification as a middle school Science teacher.
• Five years of successful middle school Science teaching experience.
• Knowledge of Science program requirements evidenced by advanced degree, coursework, training, or professional experience.
• Any exceptions to the above as may be acceptable to the Superintendent

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the integrity of instruction of Science core curriculum.
• Coordinate delivery and analysis of common unit assessments and NGSA data.
• Collaborate with school and district leaders, and Science teachers to identify areas of program improvement and monitor progress.
• Facilitate and support team professional learning.
• Participate in RIDE science leadership meetings and in the curriculum selection and implementation process.
• Serve as a member of the school leadership team.
• Perform other related work as required by the Principal.
