Job summary

Weymouth Public Schools seeks a Security Education Support Professional to help keep the school environment safe for students and staff. The role supports the Building Principal and other administrators, manages student and visitor admittance, and monitors halls, lunchrooms, and transit areas.

Candidates should have an associate degree or 48 college credits or pass a Massachusetts assessment (Parapro or WorkKeys).

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher or equivalent education required.
• At least 48 credit hours from an accredited college/university.
• Massachusetts-endorsed Parapro or WorkKeys assessment acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Manage admittance of all students and visitors/substitutes.
• Supervise halls, lunchrooms, and common areas to reduce disruption.
• Monitor and accompany students between activities or classes.
• Supervise student groups to ensure safety.
• Identify hazards and remove items harmful to students or staff.
• Refer chemical use and other concerns to supervisors promptly.
• Communicate attendance and behavior concerns to supervisor.
• Direct traffic before/after school; monitor parking lot concerns.
• Assist in vehicle and property searches as directed by administrator.
• Communicate via two-way radio with clarity and confidentiality.
• Apply de-escalation and behavioral safety training as needed.
• Participate in district job-related training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
