Job summary

The Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) seeks a Middle School Principal to lead and supervise the total school program, providing educational leadership for students, staff and community in alignment with the district's goals.

Candidates must hold a Master's degree, MSDE professional certification in an eligible licensure area (Administrator II, Supervisors of Instruction, Assistant Principals or Principals), plus experience as an administrator; Praxis 6990 knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
• MSDE professional certificate/licensure in Administrator II or related licensure, or eligibility through approved pathways.
• Five (5) years of certificated/licensed educational experience, including at least two years at middle school level.
• Three (3) years of school-based or central office administrator experience, including at least two years as a school-based administrator.

• Administer and supervise the total school program and provide educational leadership for students, staff, and community in alignment with district goals.
• Establish a climate conducive to learning, define roles, plan and coordinate programs, affect change, and make decisions.
