Job summary

Springfield Legacy Academy in Springfield, MA seeks a Middle School Physical Education teacher to join a district-wide empowerment partnership. Immediate start for a full-time position with a base salary up to $96,864.50, commensurate with experience, and potential incentives.

The role blends rigorous PE instruction with health education, co-teaching collaboration, and active family engagement to support a diverse range of learners across grades 6–8.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Massachusetts DESE license in Physical Education required; licensure waiver possible.
• Experience teaching middle or high school preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to support a range of learners.

Responsibilities

• Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned PE instruction with research-based curriculum.
• Differentiate instruction and provide supports to all learners.
• Use data and assessments to guide instruction and growth.
• Foster belonging and strong student-teacher relationships.
• Collaborate with colleagues and engage families as partners.
• Teach Health classes up to 20% of the time.
