Middle School Music/Band Teacher (Long Term Sub)
Jazz Band Classes: Direct and instruct 7th and 8th grade jazz bands, fostering a strong understanding of jazz styles, improvisation, and ensemble performance.

- Danvers Public Schools seeks a, Long Term Music/Band Teacher Teacher for the Holten Richmond Middle School. Must have proper DESE certification.
- Job Description:
- Holten Richmond Middle Schools seeks a dynamic and dedicated Middle School Band Director to join our music department for a 12-week parental leave period. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in instrumental music education, a passion for fostering students' musical growth, and the ability to inspire a diverse group of middle school students. The Band Director will oversee a comprehensive music program, including concert bands at various levels, jazz bands, and general music classes. This position requires effective classroom management, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate with colleagues, students, and the community.
- Concert Band Classes:
- Teach and conduct concert bands at various levels that include beginning through advanced instrumentalists . Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that focus on music theory, technique, and performance skills.
- General Music Classes: Provide a general music curriculum for grades 6 through 8. Create and deliver lessons that cover music fundamentals, history, and appreciation, adapting to the diverse learning needs of students.
- Performance and Rehearsals:
- Rehearsal Schedule: Plan, organize, and conduct regular rehearsals for all band classes. Ensure that rehearsals are productive and that students are prepared for performances.
- Concerts: Coordinate and lead the winter concerts, showcasing student progress and performance. Manage all aspects of concert preparation, including logistics, staging, and communication with students and families.
Student Development: Musical Growth: Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support individual and group development. Encourage a positive and inclusive learning environment. Ensemble Building: Foster teamwork and a sense of community within the band programs. Promote student engagement through various performance opportunities and extracurricular activities.
Collaboration and Communication: Faculty Collaboration: Work closely with other music and academic faculty to integrate music education with the broader school curriculum and to support student development across subjects and grade levels. Parent and Community Engagement: Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, performances, and departmental events. Build and maintain positive relationships with the community to support the music program.
Administrative Duties: Program Management: Oversee the maintenance and management of band instruments and equipment. Develop and manage the band budget, including procurement and allocation of resources. Professional Development: Stay current with music education best practices, attend relevant professional development opportunities, and continuously seek ways to enhance the music program.
