Middle School Mathematics Teacher (Grades 6-8) 2025-2026 SY - JOB ID# 13236

Join us as a Middle School Mathematics Teacher (Grades 6-8) for the 2025-2026 school year at CAPITOL REGION EDUCATION COUNCIL.

Position Overview

Under the supervision of the School Principal, develop students' skills in mathematical principles, equations, formulas, and calculations, and promote understanding of real-world applications of mathematics.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement a mathematics curriculum aligned with district goals.
  2. Create a safe and engaging classroom environment conducive to learning.
  3. Design lesson plans and instructional materials, and adapt them to meet diverse student needs.
  4. Teach concepts such as algebra, geometry, calculus, and trigonometry, encouraging creative and analytical thinking.
  5. Assess student progress regularly and modify instruction accordingly.
  6. Prepare students for standardized tests and integrate current educational developments into teaching practices.
  7. Maintain accurate records of student achievement, attendance, and progress.
  8. Communicate effectively with parents and involve them in student learning.
  9. Collaborate with colleagues and participate in faculty meetings.
  10. Select and manage instructional supplies and resources.
Additional Duties

Perform other tasks as assigned by the Principal or district administrators.

Qualifications
  • CT State Certification in Mathematics Education (e.g., #029 or #229).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Successful teaching experience at the middle school level preferred.
  • Ability to use technology effectively and communicate well with students and parents.
  • Valid driver’s license or transportation means.
Work Environment & Other Requirements

Standard school environment; travel to district locations as needed.
