Position Description

We are seeking a part‑time, in‑person Middle School Math Tutor to provide 1:1 or small group tutoring instruction during day‑time hours and/or evening hours, depending on your availability.

• Location: Various locations across New Castle County.
• Type: Part‑time.
• Schedule: Flexible; less than 10 hours a week between 8 AM – 3 PM or 3:30 PM – 7:30 PM, depending on your availability.
• Travel: Tutor may travel to different locations across New Castle County (e.g., schools, libraries).

What You’ll Do

• Provide 1:1 or small group tutoring on middle school math in a school or library setting.
• Develop tailored lesson plans based on student needs and learning styles.
• Use creative, hands‑on approaches to make the subject engaging and relevant.
• Maintain accurate documentation of student sessions and progress.
• Communicate with parents regularly and students’ teachers as needed.
• Adjust instruction techniques to accommodate students with learning differences.

Your Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience with middle school‑aged students in Math (geometry, algebra I & II, etc.).
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to adapt lesson plans and teaching approaches based on student engagement, need, and skill level.
• Ability to manage students in a group setting.
• Ability to travel to different locations in New Castle County (e.g., schools, libraries).
