Summary

To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible adults.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Meet and instruct assigned classes in the designated locations and times.
• Plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
• Prepare for assigned classes and provide written evidence of preparation upon request of the immediate supervisor.
• Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Guide learning toward the achievement of curriculum goals, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and communicate these objectives to students.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully the ideal candidate must have the following: Illinois Professional Educator License with the appropriate endorsement(s) and a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
