Job summary

Metro Early College is seeking a dedicated Middle School Mathematics Teacher to join our team in Ohio. This full-time position requires a strong foundation in grades 7-12 mathematics and licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure.

Qualifications

• Must have Mathematics (4-9) and licensure or ability to obtain licensure.
• Excellent Praxis scores preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help implement Metro Early College's educational mission and policies.
• Collaborate with instructors to maintain a high-quality integrated learning environment.
• Utilize best practices for middle school mathematics instruction.
• Analyze assessment data to inform lesson plans meeting student needs.
• Provide office hours to extend learning beyond the school day.
• Counsel students on academic and behavioral progress via Advisory.
• Adapt curriculum for STEM/21st century learning environments.
• Share best practices and participate in program development and outreach.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.

Minimum Qualifications:

Mathematics (4-9); Adolescence to Young Adult (Grades 7-12) – Integrated Mathematics License or the ability to obtain licensure

• Experience with instructional differentiation based upon learning styles, interests, cultural heritage, and creative/intellectual potential.
• Excellent scores on Praxis content examinations.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Provides services that implement the educational mission and follows all institutional policies of Metro Early College.
• Works collaboratively with other instructors to construct and maintain a high-quality integrated learning environment.
• Utilizes best practices for middle school math instruction
• Collects, analyzes and utilizes assessment data to identify students' immediate & long-range needs to develop lesson plans for assignments & activities that meet and extend student learning opportunities.
• Facilitates learning beyond the school day through office hours.
• Coaches and counsels each student regarding his/her academic & behavioral progress through Advisory.
• Adapt curriculum to a STEM/21st century learning environment
• Transparency and willingness to share best practices.
• Plays multiple roles beyond the classroom including student recruitment and admissions, new program development, communication with multiple districts, partnership development with outside organizations, and collaboration with other center initiatives.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal

Salary: Commensurate with experience
