Job summary

Cross Country Education is hiring a Middle School Math Teacher for Bridgeport, CT. You will deliver standards-aligned instruction for 6th–7th graders, create a positive classroom climate, assess progress, and communicate with families and staff to track student achievement.

Position Overview

• Deliver engaging, standards-aligned mathematics instruction to 6th-7th grade students and develop effective lesson plans to support student learning.
• Create and maintain a structured, positive classroom environment that supports student learning and behavior expectations.
• Assess student progress, provide targeted feedback and interventions, and adjust instruction to meet individual learning needs.
• Collaborate with school staff and families to communicate student needs and maintain accurate records of attendance, assignments, grades, and academic progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Valid Connecticut Teaching Certification in Mathematics preferred
  • Non-certified applicants must have at least 12 college credits in mathematics and provide a copy of their transcripts
• 1-2 years of mathematics teaching experience required, including lesson planning and classroom management for classes of 16-34 students
